TRAIL UPGRADES
Late in 2021 the 26.2 Foundation was awarded a $7,500 grant to upgrade the trail that runs from the back of Hopkinton’s Center School to Elmwood Farm on Ash Street, to make it more suitable for regular use by hikers, runners and bikers. The trail, about two miles long, is often wet, and the funds allowed for the construction of bridges.
The Foundation’s grant application was selected from more than 150 applications to the Athletic Brewing Company’s ‘Two for the Trails’ grant program. The trail work is being completed by Hopkinton’s Trail Coordination and Management Committee under the direction of Hopkinton resident Peter Lagoy.
